Our History:

Alma College was founded in 1886 by a group of devoted Presbyterian clergy and laymen who had a dream: to establish a liberal arts college based upon the loftiest of ideals — unifying the human mind and spirit through knowledge. Today, Alma College maintains a close relationship with the Presbyterian Church (USA) but also offers an environment that welcomes students of all religious backgrounds.

Alma College is a private Phi Beta Kappa institution. The College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools.
