Volunteers NeededPosition: Volunteers are needed to help with maintenace projects. Position: Someone to provide bible study in the cottages. Position: Because of the nature of the young men on this campus, volunteers are not allowed to be part of the staff which provides oversight and therapy. Volunteers can provide enrichment programs, religious activities, etc. as long as the young men choose to participate but are not required to. |

Mission Statement:We answer God's call to seek out suffering children and families and improve their lives.
Detail Description:The Tri-State Youth Authority is licensed by the State of Ohio to provide shelter and treatment to 30 young men with behavioral disorders. The shelter is provided by Tri-State and the therapeutic treatment is provided by the Presbyterian Child Welfare Agency of Buckhorn,Kentucky the landlord of the facility.
Our History:The Presbyterian Child Welfare Agency, aka Buckhorn Children & Family Services has been caring for children and families since 1902. The Broad Street Presbyterian Church of Columbus,Ohio donated their retreat center to Buckhorn in 1989.
Partner Organizations:Buckhorn of Ohio is located in Morrow County but is not a mission on any Synod of the Covenant congregation or presbytery but partners with organizations are individuals and congregations in Ohio, Michigan, and Kentucky who have supported Buckhorn's mission for many years.
Past or current grants:Ninety percent of the parent organization's income is from contracts with state and federal agencies. The remaining ten percent comes from contributions. |
